Growing Fungus, 2020
This work marks the start of my work with fungus, which I discovered growing through expired film inside a second-hand bulk-loader. The organism wildly grew and sprawled across sections of film, obscuring and augmenting the images I had intended to capture. What could be easily written off as a ruined material instead became an environment for growth, and by extension the start of an ecological practice of image-making.
